Mangalore, Sep 22:
It was sheer grit, muscle and power that were on display a group of motocyclists made their way into the city on Thursday September 22 at 4 pm. They were from the Air Force Selection Board, south division, headquartered at Mysore.

The rally, organised to commemorate its 50th anniversary and to create awareness among the youth about the Indian Air Force, kicked off from Mysore. After reaching the city, the team presented a programme in Aloysius College.

There are three Air Force selection board branches in India—one in Mysore, another in Varanasi, and the third one in Dehradun. Mysore division has the responsibility of selecting youth for the Air Force from South India.

The team, comprising 16 members, headed by Group Captain I V R Rao will hold this rally for 16 days. They will travel on their bikes all over South India covering 5,000 km and visiting Goa, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bapatla, Chennai, Pondicherry, Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Coimbatore, and will conclude in Mysore.

On Thursday, they distributed pamphlets to the college students and detailed them about the facilities provided by the Air Force, advantages of joining the Air Force, sand election procedures and other topics.

NCC Air Wing Master Warrant Officer Suresh Athri welcomed the bike rally. Air Wing Commander Vinay Panthri was also present on the occasion.

On Thursday October 6, the team will be back in Mysore. The team has already travelled 900 km. On the morning of Friday September 23, they will leave for Goa at 6 am. The team is comprised of people from different states including some from Karnataka. Vivek, Yadav, Shanith, Kamal, Kishore, Ajay Kumar, Niraj, Nandapal, Lokesh, Jangir, Dharmendar, Praveen, Babu R, and Raveendra are the team members.

The sacrifice of our brave soldiers and their dedication for guarding, protecting our Country will always be remembered.

During my PUC/University in St. Aloysius College, I was NCC cadet naval wing for 3 years and the training received during that period in NCC is still very much alive and gave me a insight what one has to contribute to the nation and if required to give one's life for the nation.

From the bottom of my heart, we appreciate this motor rally of Air Force ion Board, south division, headquartered at Mysore to commemorate its 50th anniversary. We are proud of our Air Force. God bless our soliders and their family as they are also part of the soldier family for their great sacrifice for our nation. Bravo to you all. Jai Hind.

Excellant exhibition put up by the mighty Indian Air Force personnel.Definately present day youth should be motivated to join the Indian Defence forces as their career. This is a better chance to serve the nation when opportunity knocking at the door. One can reach at what one aims at and whish to achive in life.
This is practical in my life.I joined in 1971 untill 1986.there after in civilian life reached good position with ample opportunities available to settle.
Two of my children are today well settled with international fame.
