Mangalore: Team Mangalore Rules Sri Lankan Skies at International Kite Festival

Mangalore, Sep 23: The city-based group of amateur kite flyers, ‘Team Mangalore’, which has in the past, exhibited its flair for kite flying and creating excellent kites in Europe America and Asian continents, filled the sky with its colourful kites at Negombo, Sri Lanka and won accolades for their unique collection of traditional kites.

At the Sri Lanka International Kite Festival-2011, kite ambassadors, Sarvesh Rao, Dinesh Holla, Sathish Rao, Shashank Shetty made their presence felt through skillful manouvering of their giant kite collection.

At the event, teams of kite flyers from various countries participated, and Team Mangalore mirrored the cultural richness of India through its kites.

The sky in Sri Lanka was splashed with rich colours of Indian culture, as the team’s Kites soared high. Themes like Bharatnatyam, Yakshagana, Kathakkali, Bhoothakola, Pushpaka Vimana etc were portrayed by Team Mangalore, attracting the attention of a large audience, which had gathered at Negombo beach, on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. The festival was organised as part of Nilahare Wasanthaya – 2011 celebrations.

Team Mangalore has recieved invitation to participate in Cervia International Kite Festival, Italy and has already started preparing for its own International Kite Festival on January 21 and 22, 2012 at Panambur beach.

    We Also Fly our best kites - 40m King Cobra, Boat Kites, Inflatable Octopus, Parafoil, Flat Bat Kite , Train Kites, 3D Radar Kites, Hanuman Kites, And We Try to fly Remote Kites At Negombo.
