Kundapur, Feb 18: A tragic incident occurred when a truck collided with the bike ridden by Rahul Balakrishna Ramkambe, the branch manager of Canara Bank's Maravanthe branch. The collision, which took place as Rahul was returning home from work, resulted in severe injuries, and unfortunately, he succumbed to them shortly after being admitted to the hospital.
The deceased, Rahul Balakrishna Ramkambe, a native of Mumbai, served as the branch manager at Maravanthe branch of Canara Bank. After completing his work at the branch on Saturday, Rahul was heading home to Kundapur when a truck, traveling from Byndoor to Kundapur, collided with his bike from behind.
Rahul sustained grievous injuries in the accident, and concerned citizens, including Ibrahmi Gangolli and his team, rushed him to Kundapur Hospital using their 24x7 Apathbandava ambulance service. Tragically, Rahul passed away en route to the hospital.
The driver of the truck did not stop after the collision, prompting locals to chase him. The driver maneuvered through Hemmadi market area and attempted to escape towards Byndoor. However, while trying to drive on the wrong side at the Mullikatte divider, the truck got stuck in a drain along the highway. Subsequently, the truck was lifted with the assistance of a crane, and the police apprehended the driver.
Rahul, who had been married for just five months, had purchased the bike during his wedding. Gangolli Sub-Inspector Harish and personnel conducted a spot inspection at the accident site. The tragic incident serves as a somber reminder of the need for road safety and responsible driving.
