Mangaluru, Feb 22: The Ullal police station has initiated an investigation into the case of Chaithra (27), a resident of Puttur and a dedicated PhD researcher focusing on food security, who has been reported missing. Chaithra, who had previously completed her MSc studies, was residing in a PG accommodation in Madoor while pursuing her research.

Having lost her father earlier, Chaithra had been under the care of her paternal uncle in Mangaluru until she completed her MSc. Subsequently, due to her research commitments, she had relocated to a PG accommodation in Madoor.

On the morning of February 17, Chaithra left her PG accommodation on a scooter and failed to return as expected. Concerns escalated when her whereabouts remained unknown, compounded by the fact that her mobile phone has been switched off.

The Ullal police are investigating the case.
