Bengaluru, Feb 23: Speaking truth about the ghastly Pulwama attack incident, which resulted in the death of 40 patriotic soldiers was the ‘’punishment’’ for the CBI raids against former Jammu and Kashmir Governor and former BJP national president Satyapal Malik, alleged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday.
The chief minister assailed the Narendra Modi regime for its vindictive action against Malik by conducting CBI raids at his residence and also for threatening him in a bid to silence him.
"When the Pulwama incident took place, Malik was the Jammu and Kashmir Governor and privy to all the details and his revelations on the ghastly incident that took a toll of 40 soldiers to further the political interests of the ruling BJP cannot be brushed aside,’’ he said condemning the attempts to ‘’silence’’ Malik.
Siddaramaiah, has in a press statement, demanded that the Centre should immediately desist from its ‘’coercive attempts to silence’’ Malik.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not tolerate anybody criticising him or questioning his actions. It has become standard practice for Modi to let loose CBI, ED and other Central agencies,’’ he said and reminded the prime minister that the people are wise enough to understand the real motives behind the coercive action.
