Briton Dies in Manali


Manali, Sep 25 (IANS):A Briton who was holidaying in this Himachal Pradesh resort has died due to excessive drinking, police said Sunday.

Tristan M. Eyre, 28, who was staying at a private guest house in Old Manali along with his two girl friends, was hospitalised Saturday evening by his friends for consuming excess liquor, Deputy Superintendent of Police Shiv Chaudhary told IANS.

He was declared dead in the hospital, he added. Eyre was on a tourist visa.

"Prima facie it seems he died due to overdose of liquor," Chaudhary said.

Police have informed the British High Commission in New Delhi.
