Bantwal: Fatal collision between truck, two-wheeler kills rider, sparks outrage

Bantwal, Feb 25: A tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning at Kaikamba on B C Road when a truck collided with a two-wheeler, resulting in the death of the rider.

The deceased has been identified as Ashraf (32), a resident of Aladka. Ashraf had gone to assist his friend Tanveer, who works at a vegetable shop in Kaikamba. Around 5:30 am, Ashraf accompanied Tanveer to his workplace.

As Ashraf was about to drop Tanveer off at the vegetable shop, a truck, which had delivered vegetables to the shop, collided with his bike while reversing recklessly. Both Ashraf and Tanveer sustained injuries in the accident. Ashraf, critically injured, was rushed to Unity Hospital in Mangaluru, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

Numerous accidents have occurred in front of the wholesale vegetable shop in Kaikamba. This incident sparked public outrage, leading to a temporary traffic blockade.

The traffic police promptly responded to the scene and managed to calm the angered crowd.

    Ìn that place half the road gets blocked by all types of vehicles which come to deliver or to take delivery of vegetables from early in the morning to peak hours which creates dangerous commuting possibilities. Police did take action and fined those vehicles ònce but without continuous presence the situationesituatione gets replayed daily.

    What a tragic accident. Due to the carelessness of the driver, the young lad lost his life. Always hear, after the accident; the police rushed to the scene and tried to calm the agitated crowd. . When police are pacifying the agitated crowd, should have pacified the driver permanently as the truck driver's carelessness has taken life of the scooter driver, which is equal to murder, . Appreciate the agitated crowd. At least they showed their concern towards humanity
