Mangaluru, Feb 25: An 'Say No to Drugs' awareness campaign, involving a cycling journey from Kanyakumari to Leh Ladakh, unfolded on Sunday, February 25, at Balmatta, Mangaluru.
Saneed, a passionate resident of Kerala, embarks on an incredible journey on a single-wheel bicycle, aiming to spread the powerful message of 'Say No to Drugs.'
Speaking to the media, Saneed expressed his happiness, stating, "I started my cycling journey with two friends, aiming to raise awareness among riders about drug abuse. Witnessing a significant number of people consuming drugs and understanding the potential impact on their lives, especially while driving, made us realize the seriousness of the drug problem in India. We believe that something needs to be done. Our journey began from Kerala to Kanyakumari, and from there, we recommenced the awareness campaign, aspiring to reach Leh Ladakh. This journey will take about four months. Along the way, we have met many people, and I must say that the people of Mangaluru have always been supportive. I thank all the sponsors of today's event for their support and belief in me."
Also present at the event, Cristian from Germany remarked, "This is a very good cause. Although it may not help those who are already drug abusers, it will undoubtedly benefit those who have not yet started taking drugs. When I was 18 years old, out of curiosity, I made a list of all the drugs I had tried, and the number reached 25. Then I decided to quit. Afterward, I joined the Isha Foundation and took their Inner Engineering course, which greatly helped me. When Sadguru started the initiative of Save Soil, it resonated with my life, as my studies revolve around Soil. Hence, now I'm traveling all over the world, visiting places like Pakistan, Iran, and many others to raise awareness about soil."
