Mangalore: Rachana President J S Noronha Passes Away

Mangalore, Sep 25: President of Rachana Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry J S Noronha passed away after a heart attack here on Sunday September 25. He was 69.

He breathed his last in a private hospital in the city at 1.25 pm.

Noronha was also the state vice-president of JD(S) and had served as ex-president of Khadi board. He was elected as president of Rachana twice in succession.

He is survived by his wife Shantha and three sons Sanjay, Gautam and Vijay Vikram.

Funeral cortege will leave Bayyadi house in Krisna Nagar, Bondel to St Lawrence Church, Bondel at 4 pm on Monday September 26, followed by Mass at 4.30 pm.

I am shocked to hear the sad demise of John.Two years ago he had been to my home in London with three of his friends(priests from Mangalore)and i was invited to his house at Bondel.It is at his home i came to know how simple, devoted and family man John was.I pray to God to give strength and courage to his family to over come his sudden loss and may his soul rest in peace.

The most shocking news that we have heard in a long time. U Johny was very fond of me and was my favourite Uncle. He went a great extent to help me get married to Reshma and was very fond of her too. No words can explain the loss for the community and the family. He wanted me to come and spend a couple of days with him in Bondel along with Nathan and Reshma which I was planning to do during my next visit to Mnagalore with the family. Will pray God gives you all the strength to go through this great loss and also pray that you boys will continue his legacy. May his soul Rest In Peace.

Oh NO, I just met Mr. John Noronha, a few days back, ie on Sunday 18th evening at Milagres church along with our group for one cause and he was very kind enough to give us more than 20 minutes of his precious time. Very helpful personality. Down to earth, in spite of his very good position in the society.

Shocked to read the news of John Noronha's sudden demise. He was a great leader in Mangalorean Community who treated Rachana as his own child and took care of it. Mangalore lost an energetic leaders. We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of our Uncle John. He was a Uncle for entire community all over Bondel and for every one. He was a humble person and served in his capacity for every one specially who needed help in all kind. I can not believe that he is no more now. We were like one family. During my stay in Mangalore we were together for some years in political and I knew lot of people were approaching him for his help. He severed his political life in Mangalore for more than 40 years and lot of people benefited from his kind help. Today we our community have lost one of our great leader in Mangalore who was having his strength and power in political from top to bottom.

There is no word how I can explain his gratitude. He was a really lovely person.
I pray the lord to give strength and courage to his family to withstand this unexpected loss. We join you in grief and prayers for the departed soul.
