Chikkamagaluru, Feb 25: Amidst the raising of “Go back Shobha” campaign by the BJP workers of Chikkamagaluru against the sitting MP, former chief minister B S Yediyurappa has stepped in to support Shobha Karandlaje's candidature and also affirmed her victory with a huge margin in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Commenting on the campaign at Chikkamagaluru, Yediyurappa said, “Shobha Karandlaje had won with a margin of more than 3.5 lacs in the earlier elections. This time she will win with a much higher margin and there is no doubt in this matter. 'Go Back Shobha; is a conspiracy. Everyone knows who is behind this campaign. This will not shake Shobha at any cost. She won’t be shaken by any of such campaigns. She has done a commendable job and everyone knows it. She will win this election with a bigger victory margin. The first list will be released within the next three days.”
Through this he confirmed that Shobha Karandlaje will get the ticket for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru ticket this time as well.
Yediyurappa also held meetings with BJP leaders in Chikkamagaluru.
The 'afflicted activists' who have written directly to three senior BJP leaders have demanded that Shobha Karandlaje should not be given a ticket again for any reason under the 'Hathao Abhiyan' campaign which is a continuation of the 'Go Back Shobha' campaign.
On the eve of the Lok Sabha elections, the happenings that would embarrass the BJP were bothering the party elders. Now, Yediyurappa himself has stepped in and opened the door to clear the confusion regarding the party ticket.
