New Delhi, Sep 26: The accused in the 2G spectrum scam who are currently lodged in Tihar jail, may well be in further trouble with the CBI on Monday September 26 filing fresh charges that may invite life imprisonment for all of them.

This could spell trouble for the likes of former telecom minister A Raja, his aide Sharat Kumar, DMK MP Kanimozhi, Swan telecom promoter Shahid Balwa, Unitech MD Sanjay Chandra, Swan telecom director Vinod Goenka.

On Monday, CBI cited section 409, criminal breach of public trust which, if proven guilty, would see the accused behind bars for life.

The charges of cheating and criminal conspiracy levelled against the accused so far would have meant seven years of imprisonment if found guilty. Only Raja was charged with forgery apart from other charges.
