Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Feb 28: With as many as 8 Congress MLAs cross-voting in Himachal Pradesh to help BJP to snatch a Rajya Sabha seat defeating the Congress nominee and noted Supreme Court Advocate Abishek Manu Singhvi in Tuesday’s Rajya Sabha elections posing danger to Chief Minister Sukhvindar Singh Sukhu, Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar arrived in Shimla on a troubleshooting mission on Wednesday.
The Congress high command had asked Shivakumar, who is known as the go-to-man in any crisis situation for Congress party, has asked the KPCC Chief to rush to Himachal Pradesh and retrieve the situation so as to ensure that the Congress government remained undisturbed.
Shivakumar reached Shimla and was immediately closeted with senior party leaders of the troubled State including Chief Minister Sukhvindar Singh Sukhu,Chattisgarh former Chief Minister Bupesh Bagela, Haryana Congress Opposition leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda and other leaders.
The Karnataka deputy chief minister is staying in a private hotel outside the prying eyes of the media.
