Kasargod, Feb 29: In a touching display of admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a man from Kasargod has been offering food to the public without any fixed price, showcasing his unwavering support for the leader. Uppangala Kutyanna, a resident of Agalpadi near Kumbdaje, has been providing this service for the past decade, coinciding with Modi's tenure in Delhi.
Kutyanna's canteen operates in a unique manner during the annual fair held at the Agalpadi Durga Parameshwari temple. Rather than setting fixed prices for his offerings, Kutyanna allows customers to pay what they feel is appropriate. A donation vessel is provided for patrons to contribute based on their satisfaction with the food or beverages consumed. Remarkably, Kutyanna does not insist on payment from those who choose not to contribute.
Venkatraman Bhat of Namo Canteen attests to the success of Kutyanna's venture, crediting the grace of Goddess Durga Parameshwari for its prosperity. Despite the unconventional payment model, the canteen has not incurred any losses over the past decade.
Local resident Venu Sharma, who has witnessed the evolution of this unique establishment over the years, praises Kutyanna's initiative in a time where faith and trust are scarce. The canteen has garnered widespread popularity in the community, with villagers expressing their appreciation by contributing more than before and extending their best wishes to Kutyanna.
In addition to his philanthropic endeavours, Kutyanna is also a devoted karsevak. His recent pilgrimage to Ayodhya on February 22 to seek blessings from Lord Ram Lalla further exemplifies his devout nature.
