Kundapur, Mar 1: In a heartbreaking incident, a man lost his life in an accident on the anniversary of his father's death. The tragic incident occurred in Kalavara, Kundapur on Friday.
The victim, Raghavendra Acharya, was the only son of the late Ramakrisna Acharya.
Ramakrishna Achar, who engaged in carpentry work, ironwork, and engine and motor repairs during his free time, had passed away suddenly on March 1, last year. Ironically, this day marked his death anniversary. Raghavendra Achar, employed at a glass and plywood shop in Kota, had ordered a load of sand for housework after completing the rituals for his father's death anniversary.
While standing near the house gate, tragedy struck as a sand-laden tipper reversed, colliding with Raghavendra. His head was trapped between the gate's pillar and the rear portion of the tipper, resulting in severe injuries that proved fatal.
The untimely demise has cast a pall of gloom over the household. The cries of Raghavendra's grieving mother, who lost her only son, resonate in the air. Known for his simplicity and sobre habits, Raghavendra, employed at the glass shop, also pursued Hindustani music practice at Kundapur Sadhana Kala Sangama school. A case regarding the incident has been registered at Kundapur rural Kandloor police station.
