Udupi, Mar 2: BJP party workers from the Malpe area organized a bike rally, advocating for the nomination of a local candidate from Udupi for the upcoming Lok Sabha (LS) elections in the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency.
The BJP party workers emphasized their demand for seats to be allocated to local candidates. They expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of development in the Udupi District under the current MP, Shobha Karandlaje. The workers stressed the importance of having a candidate from Udupi who is dedicated to the region's development.
Yogish Kotian, a CMC member, stated, "There is widespread questioning regarding why seats should not be allocated to Pramod Madwaraj, who hails from our own district and advocates for its development. Many believe that we receive compensation for supporting the party, but we bear our own expenses because our priority is the district's advancement."
The party workers submitted their memorandum to BJP district president Kishore Kumar Kundapur.
Kishore Kumar, the BJP district president, affirmed, "I will forward the letter presented by the party workers to the party leaders. Our workers are advocating for Udupi candidates, irrespective of their caste, including those from the fishing community or any other caste."
The rally was taken out from Malpe to Kadiyali district BJP office. Over 300 party workers participated in the rally.
