Kochi: Experts Speak on Konkani Folklore at Seminar

Kochi, Sep 27: A seminar on Konkani folklore was conducted here on Sunday September 25.

Dr Jayanti Naik of Goa inaugurated the seminar and Payyanur Ramesh Pai presided.

Dr P R Hareendra Sarma presented a paper on folklore studies. Suresh A Shenoy and Anand G Kamath spoke on the occasion.

During the deliberations that followed, several folk songs popular in Kerala were recited. Sarathkumar S Prabhu, director of ‘Nandu’ Konkani film, was felicitated on the occasion.

S Gopinatha Naik welcomed the gathering and P Manohar proposed the vote of thanks.

The seminar was held under the joint auspices of Anugraha Charitable Trust, Kerala Konkani Academy, P G Kamath Foundation and Konkani Sahitya Samaj.
