Mangaluru: Don't I have right to live, love - Missing Chaithra Hebbar to Ullal police

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Mar 4: Ullal police are investigating the missing case of PhD student Chaithra Hebbar. They have apprehended Shahrukh, the main accused in the case which is said to be a love jihad by right wing Hindu organizations.

During the interrogation it has come to light that Chaithra and Shahrukh were having an affair.

It has been confirmed that Chaithra has left for Qatar on a visitors visa. She has sent an email to the Ullal police from Qatar in which she said that she is matured enough to lead her life and has the right to love someone of her choice.

“I am not under any pressure. I have come to Qatar on my own will. Don’t I have the right to live? I am a matured adult. Don't I have right to love,” questioned Chaithra in her email to the personnel of Ullal police station.

It has also confirmed that Chaithra went to Himachal Pradesh with Shahrukh from Bengaluru via Mumbai and Goa and then flew to Qatar from Delhi airport. Shahrukh had made all arrangements for her travel to Qatar, it is believed.

I really hope whatever decision you've taken goes well. But if it doesn't, come back to your home country, it will accept you no matter what. Also I really hope YOU have only sent that email. If possible, send a video/ voice note telling that you're safe. - your well wisher!

One side I feel pity for this girl. Why she should run after him?a PHd degree girl going slipping out of country behind this chap.It reminds me about some girls are marrying men gone to the jail for life time ,thinking they are innocent ,where they are actuelly hundred percent killers who killed their own partners ,children or high officials. They even marry these guys in jail ,where there is no hope of coming out.Hope this girl will not be disappointed.

Hi Chaithra, You have your own right to live, love or otherwise. Was it necessary to run away to various states before appearing in Qatar. You do not have a residence permit in Qatar. This adds to the problem. Why? If you have some aim in life, face the world boldly. No need to put your own family into trouble. The legal means are available for you, use it - dont run away.

We must see many more like this and even girls from other community must get as bold as Chaitra... Religious barriers are the blind folds for human thinking... Younger generation must develop so much that they should leave religion and gods at home before stepping out...

Chaithra, yes you are mature enough to take such step, but think about your family who has sacrificed so many things for you just to raise you up and to educate you. You have put your family in painful and shameful situation. You will realise this mistake after few days for sure, but that will be too late. Anyway good luck to you. Dear girls please dont do such things. If you really love someone then try to convivence your family through adults and get married, but please dont elope and give sorrow to your family. 90% of such cases are failure and they return back to family shamelessly. Remember we are blind in love but marriage is an eye opener.

Chaitra of course you have a right to live your life.no doubt, but you forget a small important thing. You have also responsibility too in life. While whole world was searching about your abscense for long time, thinking something happened .Think you are mature enough to do this to inform atleast your parents about going out of India.Hope you have thought about your step good.Breaking your studies disappearing like a cloud.wish you all the best.Dont cry later for your urgent step to live as you said.

She has cleared all doubts, by her short note, to the police that her decision was purely voluntary and because of personal reasons; stretching the issue further would be an utterly foolish act, and waste of time and taxpayers money!! Almost everyday such type of incidents of voluntary elopement might be occuring around the country.....

You have 1billon Hindus what difference will make few goes to other religion depending on their own wishes? Who are we to dictate when people go on thier own choice? Food habits.
