Udupi, Mar 4: "Naseer Hussain might be a threat to the nation. He might be a threat if he enters the Rajya Sabha. Action should be initiated to remove him from his membership," urged Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna.
He was addressing media persons while reacting to the arrest of three individuals for shouting pro-Pakistan slogans during the victory celebration of Congress's Rajya Sabha candidate Naseer Hussain in the polls at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru last week.
MLA Yashpal Suvarna said, "This was an incident where the whole nation bowed in shame. Naseer Hussain's background should be checked and also a thorough investigation is needed as to how did such individuals enter Vidhana Soudha. The backgrounds of those arrested should also be verified."
He said, "There might be a link between these slogans and bomb blasts that rocked a popular cafe in Bengaluru. There is a conspiracy to agitate against the central government and Hindu religion. Congress leaders' statements were a joke. Now, they have to run for cover and wear a burqa. Congress should change its name to Congress Muslim and join hands with Muslim League. Let them go either to Bangladesh or Pakistan."
