Mangalore, Sep 27:
Mangalore Dasara at Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple is one of the biggest and the most keenly-awaited festivities of the coastal district, celebrated with great joy and splendour.

The ten-day festival starts with the installation of the nine idols of Goddess Durga in the decorated hall of the temple.

On Tuesday September 27, the temple was illuminated with glowing lights that provided an incredible feast to the eyes.

Dasara in Mangalore is a grand event attracting scores of people from all over. It is considered an alternative to the grand Mysore Dasara. .

Water fountain at the temple premise is another attractive feather to the temple’s crown. About 7 km of road through which a grand procession is taken has been illuminated with the colorful lights.

Hundreds of artists have been working hard for the past one month to put together the lightings and the tableaux.

Waw, mesmerising stills, unmatched decorations, looks like heaven abodes on earth at our own Kudroli. Hearty wishes to all, on this sacred occasion of Dasara. Let the deities shower their blessings for the well-being of one and all. The social jesture of the volunteers can never go unnoticed during this grand occasion. Hats off to their wonderful service and thanks for the organisers for conducting this festival in such a grand manner. May this continue for generations to come. One small suggestion would be that the final day processesion can be made environment friendly.
