Mangalore: Devotees Witness Grand Dasara Inaugural at Kudroli temple

Mangalore, Sep 28: The grand inaugural ceremony of the 21st Dasara celebrations at prestigious Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple in the city attracted good number of devotees on Wednesday September 28.
Ramesh Kumar of Janatha Constructions, Urmila Ramesh Kumar, H S Sairam, president of the temple management committee, Raghavendra Kuloor, Maheshchandra, B K Tharanath, Malathy Janardhan Poojary, Harikrishna Bantwal were present during the formal inauguration of the Navaratri celebrations.

The attractive lamps were lighted in front of the idols of Sharada Devi and Nava Durgas. After the formal inauguration, the idols of Sharadadevi and nine Durgas (Navadurga) were installed by the priests amidst the chanting of hymns and performance of Vedic rituals.
In these nine days of celebrations, the decorated idols of Sharada Devi and Shaila Putri, Brahmacharini, Chandra Ghanta, Kushmaandini, Skandaputhri, Katyayini, Kaalaratri, Maha Gauri and Sidhidaathri will be invoked to bless the devotees.
On Thursday September 29, the website of the temple will be launched by former minister B Janardhan Poojary at 11.30 am.
