Bengaluru, Mar 7: Consumers of urban areas will not be able to pay their electricity bills from March 10 offline as well as online as the software of Escoms is being upgraded. The MESCOM urban areas also come within the ambit.
In addition to bill payments, other services such as name change, tariff plan change, new service connections etc will not be possible for a period of 10 days. This will be applicable for consumers in the areas that fall under Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (RAPDRP) towns from March 10 to 19. However, there will be no disruption in power supply during this period.
The areas that will get affected in Bescom limits include Bengaluru, Shidlaghatta, Chikkaballapura, Kolar, Chintamani, Kanakapura, Ramanagara, Tumakuru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Channapatna, Sira, Mulabagilu, Anekal, Hoskote, Bangarapete, K G F, Challakere, Doddaballapura, Harappanahalli, Kunigal, Hiriyur, Harihara, Gowribidanur and Tiptur.
The areas that will get affected in CESC limits include Mysuru, Nanjanagud, Malavalli, Hunasuru, Mandya, K R Nagar, Chamarajanagar, Madikeri, Kollegala, Arasikere, Channarayapattana town and Hassan.
Under the limits of Mescom, Mangaluru, Udupi, Kadur, Tarikere, Bantwal, Puttur, Sagara, Shikaripura, Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Chikkamagaluru town and Sagara will be affected.
The areas that will get affected under Gescom limits are Manvi, Kalburgi (Gulbarga), Bidar, Sindhanoor, Gangavathi, Bidar, Basavakalyana, Sedam, Alanad, Wadi, Shahabad, Balki, Shorapur, Shahapur, Kampli, Sirguppa, Yadgiri, Kampli, Koppal, Bellary, Hospet and Humnabad.
Under the limits of Hescom the areas that will get affected include Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad, Nippani, Karwar, Bailahogala, Jamakhandi, Nargund, Lakshmeshwar, Ramdurga, Nargund, Guledgudda, Chikkodi, Athani, Bhatkal, Mahalingpura, Dandeli, Saudatti, Indi, Sirsi, Savanur, Kumta, Rabbkavi-Bannahatti, Gokak, Gadag, Bagalkot, Mudhol, Illkal, Haveri, Vijayapura and Ranebennur.
The electricity bills will be issued to the customers during the software upgradation period. But they will be updated as issued on March 20. It will take at least 15 RAPDRP time to make the new software stabilise once the upgradation is complete.
The officials of various Escoms have requested consumers to cooperate. They also said that a IT team will monitor any issues 24x7 once the upgradation is done.
