UP Gets Three New Districts

Lucknow, Sep 29: With an eye on assembly election, Chief Minister (CM) Mayawati carved out three new districts in UP on Wednesday. The state will now 75 districts. In this tenue, CM Mayawati has created five new districts so far in her four and half year tenure.

The newly-created districts will be known as Prabuddh Nagar, Panchsheel Nagar and Bheem Nagar. CM Mayawati announced these districts while addressing people in three meetings after her inspection on Wednesday. She addressed people at Shamli, Hapur and Sambhal and announced the the three new districts.

Now Shamli from Muzaffarnagar will be a new district and knowns as Prabudh Nagar, Hapur is another district  from Ghaziabad and will be known as Panchsheel Nagar while Sambhal from Moradabad will be known as Bheem Nagar.

Mayawati had created two new districts of Kanshiram Nagar from Etah and Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar (Amethi) from Sultanpur, the parliamentary constituency of Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi.

The carving of new district is seen as fulfillment of aspirations of people and is regarded as a vote catching tactics. With assembly elections approaching, it is taken as an easy tool by the ruling parties to attract the people.

    Please, don't change the name. The town has mythological significance and gets its name from Shyam (Lord Krishna). Respect people's feelings as they wanted Shamli to become a district but not on the cost of its name.
