Udupi, Mar 12: Former chairman of Karnataka state backward classes commission, J P Hegde, has confirmed his decision to join the Congress party in an official statement.
Hegde will officially join the Congress at 4 pm on March 12 at the KPCC office in Bengaluru.
In his official statement, Hegde said, “I am indebted to all of you who have always guided and supported me in my political and social life. I have discussed the matter with you and have decided to take my next step. I have resolved to become active in politics for the development of coastal Karnataka.
“Accordingly, I will officially join the Congress party at 4 pm on Tuesday, March 12, at the KPCC office in Bengaluru. I have made the decision to join the Congress and determine my next political move.
“I request all of you who have been with me to join me at the Congress office (Queen’s Road) in Bengaluru at 4 pm on March 12. I also request all of you to guide me and extend your fullest cooperation,” he said.
