Chamarajanagar, Mar 12: Former Congress MP R Dhruvanarayan was a popular and model leader, who was an asset to Congress party, described Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister, who arrived in Chamarajanagar to pay homage to Dhruvanarayan, who had served as MLA and MP, on his death anniversary, said Dhuvanarayan was loved by the people of all sections of society that he is still revered and remembered by the people even after his death.
Siddaramaiah said Dhruvanarayan had constantly worked for the development of the Chamarajanagar district and was always available to the people.
Entering politics from his student days, Dhruvanarayan had worked as State Congr3esws working president, he said pointing out that Dhruvanarayan’s son Darshan Dhruvanarayan has adopted his father as role model. Both father and son were staunch followers of Dr B R Ambedakar and the values of the Constitution, the Chief Minister said.
Social Welfare Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa, Animal Husbandry Minister K Venkatesh, MLAs Anil Chikkamadu, Ravishankar and former MLA Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah and other leaders were present.
