Bengaluru, Mar 17: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scared of AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge as he is not able to find anything against him and therefore resorts to abusing him” claimed KPCC President and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Sunday.
Speaking to media persons near the KPCC office in Bengaluru, he said Congress party is not worried about Modi launching the BJP election campaign in Karnataka from Kalaburgi, the hometown of our AICC President on Saturday with verbal attacks against Kharge.
“Let Modi come to Karnataka any number of times and campaign. We are happy and are confident of winning at least 20 out of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in the State,” Shivakumar predicted.
The KPCC chief claimed that the Congress party will ‘’win at least 20 seats, including Kalaburgi.’’
Second list on March 20
Shivakumar said he will be leaving for Mumbai to participate in the final day of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi in which almost all the prominent INDIA block opposition leaders are participating.
The Congress Election Committee is meeting on March 19 and the Congress party’s second list of candidates for the remaining seats in the State is likely to be finalised on March 20, he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister said all the members of the Congress party’s Guarantee panels will be meeting on March 21. All the State, district and taluk level members of guarantee committees are participating in the meeting and the members will be given responsibilities for the Lok Sabha elections, he added.
