Udupi, March 20: There is a lake near Usha Nayak's house in Durga Nagar of Parkala here.
The Parkala lake is being developed since the last five days and the soil is being cleared using an earth excavating machine. However, the stone pot where the theertha flows in pranapeeth and an L shaped idol were found when the work was in progress.
Earlier, when Parkala Nagar Sabha member, Ramdas Naik asked a question during the renovation of Sri Gopalakrishna temple of lower Parkala in Ikere, no trace was found even after the soil was cleared for about 15 days by the JCB in Ikere.
It is special that the remains of a temple has been found in Ikere after the development of the lake was taken up on a large scale.
On the information of local resident Usha Nayak, social worker Ganesh Raj Saralbettu visited the place in the evening. On this occasion Mohan Das Nayak Parkala. Ganesh Sannakki Bettu and others cooperated.
