Madhya Pradesh, Mar 22: Simala never envisioned herself as an IPS officer. Her heart was set on her passion for acting, a profession she deeply cherished. However, fate had other plans in store for her.
From a young age, Simala harbored dreams of becoming an actor and dancer. Her father, Bhagirath Prasad, is an IAS officer, and her mother, Mehrunnisa Parvez, a renowned author.
Simala attended St Joseph School in Bhopal for her schooling and pursued her graduation in commerce. Later, she completed her post-graduation in sociology from Barkatullah University in Bhopal. At that time, the thought of UPSC never crossed her mind.
Having appeared in films like ‘Nakkasha’ and ‘Alif’, Simala gained recognition for her exceptional portrayal of characters. Her performance as Nimmi in the movie ‘Alif’ earned her widespread acclaim, and her role as a journalist in ‘Nakkash’ was praised by many senior Bollywood artistes.
After completing her post-graduation, Simala attempted the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission examination and cleared it on her first try. It was then that she considered pursuing the UPSC exam. Surprisingly, Simala opted not to enroll in any coaching classes but instead relied on self-study and online resources. She successfully cleared the UPSC exam on her first attempt and chose to become an IPS officer.
Presently, Simala serves as an SP in the Betul district of Madhya Pradesh.
