India's Got Talent: Kudroli Ganesh, Vilas Nayak Fall Short of Victory

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Oct 2: After awe-inspiring performances all along over the past few weeks, pride of Mangalore magician Kudroli Ganesh and ace painter Vilas Nayak from Ujire were in for disappointment in the finals of 'India's Got Talent' on Colors TV.

The grand finale, which was aired on the night of Saturday October 1, saw Suresh & Vernon Group from Mumbai emerging victorious.

Kudroli Ganesh and his team had charmed the judges and viewers alike with their unique blend of magic and folklore of coastal Karnataka. Their artistic presentation reached beyond the realms of mere magic, evoking moments of intensity and making all and sundry gasp with surprise. The team, though it could not cross the final hurdle, did manage to bring special recognition to Mangalore and its culture.

Vilas Nayak from Ujire who is settled in Bangalore has been a class apart right through, and was touted to win the finals by many. His unique ambidextrous ability with the paint brush had even celebrities in the show, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh, waxing eloquent. In the grand finale, he had the opportunity to welcome Shah Rukh Khan with a painting of the superstar in his 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' avatar, which not only pleased SRK but took him down memory lane.

After the show, Vilas posted on his Facebook page, "I am so happy I got an opportunity to perform at a bigger platform and I truly value and cherish the love and support people have given. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!!.... it was an absolute pleasure to meet SRK.. what a star, truly... the way he encouraged each participant on the sets is just amazing!"

However, it was the breathtaking stunts and dance moves by Mumbai-based Suresh and Vernon Group that took away the winning trophy. The group, comprising 30 artistes, all below 25 years of age, held the audience and judges with their spellbound act. They received Rs 50 lac along with a TV set by Shah Rukh Khan.

"I am privileged to be here today. It is one-of-a kind platform that's doing a phenomenal job of finding unique and interesting talent from various parts of India. I am proud to be here," said Shah Rukh, who came to promote his forthcoming superhero film "RA.One".

The other finalists included young salsa dancers BAD Salsa from Kolkata, hip-hop dancer Sanjay Dhaka from Jaipur and Chandigarh-based spiritual rock band The Madhavas Group.

The second and third position went to BAD Salsa and The Madhavas Group, respectively, and they received a cheque of Rs 100,000 each.

The finale, aired on Colors, not only saw a melange of power-packed performances by the finalists but also the previous seasons' winners - Prince Dance Group, that won the first season, and Shillong Chamber Choir, winners of the show's second season.

Besides the show's judges - Dharmendra, Kirron Kher and Sonali Bendre, it was Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh who added glamour to the ceremony.

The actor grooved to the music and left the audience laughing with his witty and humorous one liners.

"India's Got Talent 3", which gives a platform to talent from every nook and corner of the country, went on air around three months ago. The third season was hosted by Meiyang Chang and Gautam Rode.

Wonderful Show. Congratulations to the winners. But little disappointed with the results. I was hoping for Vilas Naik's victory. Better Luck next time. Vilas is a fantastic tallent. I think because there were two contestants from Karnataka, public votes might have got split. As far as readers concern over Tamil language spoke by both SRK and Isha, Kudroli has already clarified about this in the local newspapers. The contents of his answers were edited.

I fully endorse your views here.My self and my family members and even many of my friends are questioning the way you asked about Kudroli Ganesh. With all respect for his talent show which is outstanding I regret very much for Ganesh when Isha remarked about him in Tamil!!!
Mr.Ganesh, first you are a Kannadiga and then you aspire for appriciatio for your talent!!! You have let down the spirit of region in general and state in particular.

When Isha Deol and SRK thought Mr. Kudroli is tamilian, why didn't Mr. Kudroli correted that mistake? He deserve to win but same time you also need guts to say that 'I AM NOT TAMILIAN, BUT MANGALREAN'
I simply remeber a poet: KANNADAKKE HORAADU KANNADHA KANDA, KANNADAVA KAAPAADU NANNA ANADHA, JOGULLADHA HARAKE IDU MARAYADHIRU KANDHA, MARETHARE AYYO MAREDHANTHE NANNA' - Proud to be Kannadigha.

I was following this show very closly since it started. I was little bit disappointed the way result came. I thought Bad Salsa the wonder kids will won this award, vilas will be first runner up & between Kudroli & Suresh group any one can be second runner up. But it turned otherway round. Anyways the tallents of our pride Mr. Kudroli & Mr. Vilas uncomparable with the result. They made us proud. I have only one disappointment that the guest who came on the prgramm specialy Isha deol and SRK thought Mr. Kudroli is Tamilian. They are conversating in Tamil and nobody rectified these people. Anyways "BADE BADE DESH MEIN CHOTE CHOTE BAAT HOTEN HAI" congrats......

But the winners, Suresh & Group are really deserve for their excellent performance. The Runner Ups Bad Salsa, they are Amazing. Both the kids have got very good future.First I thought they are the winners. But, Vilas Nayak he is marvelous and he is the rarest talent available in India. Anyhow, my best wishes for a good future to Mr. Ganesh Kudroli & Team & Mr. vilas Nayak.

In a country where Singers, Musicians & Dancers are idolised, it is not surprising that talents of others like Vilas Nayak and Kudroli Ganesh are ignored. But they have proved their mettle and we Mangloreans are PROUD of them. Well done Vilas and Ganesh.
