Mangaluru, Mar 23: In a significant anti-corruption operation, Lokayukta sleuths have apprehended Mansoor Ali, commissioner of the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 25 lac. The bribe was being solicited in exchange for issuing TDR clearance.
Under the leadership of DySP Cheluvaraj, inspectors Amanulla and Suresh Kumar, the operation unfolded, resulting in the arrest of Mansoor Ali and broker Mohammed Saleem.

The operation stems from a complaint filed by Sri Giridhar Shetty of Sagar Courts, Kottara, Mangaluru, alleging harassment by Mansoor Ali and Mohammed Saleem regarding the issuance of a TDR certificate.
Following the trap set by the Lokayukta team, both accused were caught red-handed after accepting the bribe. A sum of Rs 25 lac was seized from them, and they are currently in police custody.
The case was registered under CR No - 03/2024 u/s 7[a] PC Act 1988 [amendment Act 2018] on March 22.
