Jeddah/Dammam, Oct 3: An Ullal-based youth working in Jeddah and an Addur Mudaikodi-based salesman working in Dammam area died of cardiac arrest here on Friday September 30.

Tasleem Nayyadi, a 28-year-old healthy young energetic man hailing from Kodi Ullal, suddenly collapsed when he was playing cricket in the early hours on Friday September 30. His friends at once rushed him to a nearby hospital at Kumrah, Jeddah but doctors pronounced his death soon after.

Tasleem

He had been in Saudi Arabia for the past 18 months working as a painter in a company at Kumrah, Jeddah. Tasleem is remembered as a sociable and friendly person who was involved in community service and popular amongst Mangaloreans in and around Jeddah. Tasleem is survived by his mother and two elder brothers residing in Ullal Kodi.

The funeral was held on Sunday October 2 night at Jeddah-Jeezan Road Cemetery after prayers at Arbaeen Masjid Kumrah. Consent was obtained from his mother to hold his burial here.

On the same day in Dammam, another Mangalorean, 50-years-old Abbas hailing from Mudaikodi Addur, and working as salesmen also died of cardiac arrest. On Friday evening he complained of chest pain, and was right away taken to hospital where he breathed his last. He had been working as a salesmen in Paris Centre near Seiko Area Dammam for five years.

Abbas

Abbas was a familiar person in and around Seiko area Dammam. "He was working with us for the past five years. We are in shock. He was loved and respected by all," one of his colleagues said. Several Mangaloreans from Dammam and surrounding areas rushed to the hospital immediately after they heard the news. Meanwhile, efforts were under way to secure the possession of the body for the last rites. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.

The funeral was held on Sunday October 2 at Dammam Cemetery (91) after prayers at Al Rayhan Masjid in Dammam. Consent was obtained from his wife to hold his burial here.

According to sources, the paper works and other formalities from the Embassy, hospital and police station are being expedited in both cases with the coordination of IFF Dammam and Jeddah area Community Welfare members. Relatives, friends, and well-wishers in and around Jedda and Dammam have expressed condolences on their untimely deaths.
