New Delhi, Oct 4: In heart-rending incident, a 10-year-old boy was accidently shot by his 12-year-old friend with a country-made firearm. What began as a game of hide-and-seek, later turned out to be fatal for Chandan as his friend opened fire at him in Khayala area, here.

Chandan was a sixth standard student of a government school. Both the boys were neighbours and were said to be close friends.

A senior police officer said that the two were playing hide-and-seek. The deceased was playing the role of a thief while the other was the police. He got hold of a country-made firearm which was kept in his house by his father Ramachandran's friend Mukesh.

During the game, the boy allegedly got hold of the weapon and opened fire in which the other boy got injured and died, he said.
