Kundapur: Bike, truck collision – Minor rider killed, one injured

Kundapura, Apr 1: A minor boy was killed and another minor got seriously injured in an accident that occurred between the bike on which they were riding and a truck on the NH 66 near Trasi.

The deceased is identified as Mohammed Kashif (17), son of Abdul Khader, a resident near Gangolli post office. Mohammed Faiz (14), son of Fazlu, a resident near Gangolli post office is seriously injured.

The accident occurred on Monday, April 1, in the afternoon. A patrol vehicle of the NHAI arrived at the spot and made way for smooth movement of vehicular traffic which was blocked due to the accident.

A MHI 24x7 ambulance service took both the deceased and the seriously injured person to a hospital in Kundapura.

A case has been filed with Gangolli police station.

    Very sad ...but the parents should be prosecuted for allowing the 17 year old to ride the bike which is above 50CC. assuming even if he had a learns licence Only children 18 years and above can ride a bike with a DL >vehicles above 50 cc

    Why do parents give vehicles to minors to drive? Minors should not be allowed to drive and it can lead to dangerous consequences in life Please do not give vehicles to minors. I am feeling very sad
