Dubai: Billawa Balaga to Conduct Blood Donation Camp on Oct 7

Dubai, Oct 5: The Billawa Balaga have scheduled to conduct a blood donation campaign at Al Wasl Hospital, here on Frday October 7. The camp will start at around 9 am and will be continue up till 1 am.

The Billawa Balaga Dubai and Mahila Vibhaga of Billawa Balaga, through the media, have appealed to all their members and donors to come in large numbers to make the event a successful one.

Before donating blood, the hemoglobin level in each donor will be tested. If it is low, then blood donation will not be allowed. Besides hemoglobin, blood pressure level and body weight will also be checked. In addition, blood will also be examined for detecting the presence of five diseases, namely, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, Syphilis, HIV/AIDS and malaria. At the same time for those who are not aware of the presence of these disease in them will receive a “warning sign” to pay immediate attention to their body and take
necessary action.The maximum age for blood donation is 60 years of age.
