Five Killed in Uttar Pradesh Accident


Lucknow, Oct 6 (IANS): At least five people were killed and 20 injured when their mini truck overturned and fell into a deep pit in Uttar Pradesh early Thursday, police said.

The accident took place in Jagatpur town of Etah district, about 300 km from here. The victims are from Sarot village in the district.

"We managed to rescue those trapped inside the vehicle. While four people died on the spot, another succumbed to injuries while being taken to a hospital," Police Inspector V.P. Shukla told reporters in Etah.

"All the injured, including the driver, are being treated at a hospital. The condition of six people is stated to be critical," he added.
