Mangalore, Oct 6: The police team under the direction of city police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh succeeded in solving the murder case of taxi driver Govardhan and arrested the two killers allegedly involved in it. However the police commissioner refused to reveal the place of arrest on the grounds of confidentiality.

Addressing the reporters here on Thursday October 6, he said that as the case was registered at Urva police station, the police team from there had begun the investigation procedures.

The commissioner revealed that they both were tipper drivers and about 30 members were interrogated before zeroing in on these two culprits. Four police teams were formed for the purpose. The motive behind the murder was to loot money, according to police.

To a query on Panjimuger double murder case, police commissioner said that he agrees on the complaint that there has been a delay in nailing down the culprits, but police are making sincere efforts, he added. The commissioner hailed the efforts of the police team in arresting Govardhan's killers.

The Law Enforcement Department has indeed done a great job under the guidance and supervision of the efficient Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh. This is not the first instance where Police have traced the people responsible for the crime. However there may be an element of doubt regarding the perpetuaters of the crime and it is for the Court to investigate and come to a conclusion.

Of late Mr. Seemanth Singh and his good team of officers like Mr. Muthuraya are very much in the news and they more than deserve praise.

I have lived in Mangalore for nearly nine decades - of course intermittently I was away from the City and the Country. This safe and beautiful City of Mangalore has now turned to be not such a good place to live in. It is however my sincere hope that Officers like Seemanth Singh will make the City a Haven as it used to be way back in the thirties and forties.

I agree to Mr Gingalala,People! i guess in such critical cases,
we need to check the Previous case history thoroughly before we pass any comments
If we go through the prevs case history ,As Mr Gingalala mentioned daijiworld clearly mentioned that it was pre planned,Also Few days back some newspapers ,and a local newsportal published saying there is some political pressure behind this case.
Now whom r we suppose to believe..... the media or the Police ?
I hope our police Dept has not gone to a level where they r forced to do a High drama infront of the public just to close the case.......

Good job by Mangalore Police..hats Off.

The reason behind covering the face of the criminal is that these alleged criminals have to go through a identification parade. During the identification parade the witness have to identify the arrested is a culprit.

there are 2 things to this, either they have committed more crimes and the cops are trying to find that out to get more evidence, else if its only this case, these guys will get bail and be scott free, knowing our legal system, they will be let off due to lack of evidence also, when Mr Kasab is still chilling out, these people will be sent out soon...

A lot of dots still unconnected in this case. The cab driver murdered hailed from a very poor family and it is quite suprising to hear that the murder was done to loot money. If it was for money, why was the veichle abandoned 15 kms from the place where the driver was murdered without any single damage or stolen parts in the cab. Earlier reports from Daijiworld itself have clearly mentioned that this was a pre planned murder and not situational. There is more to this than what meets the eye.
The guys in the photos may have actually comitted the crime but surely some one has paid them to do it.There is more to this than what meets the eye. I hope the real killers are brought to justice

To cover killers face, it the procedure of the Police dept. One should not question about that. Now the law will take of his own course. It is easy to pass the remarks, but catching the accused is not easy today. Accused are carrying out their job with very carefully.

Truth will come only after the final rites of investigation. If the news of arresting the real culprits/murderers is proved to be true then hearty congratulations to the entire Mangalore Police team for their efforts.Hats off brave and efficient police personnel. But in that case as some of the commentators comments why culprit's faces are covered?.What is the logic behind it.Their faces should be exposed to public if they are the real culprits and should be awarded severe/ultimate punishments like death penalty. However full of applauses.appreciations to the entire police team for their efforts to nab the culprits. This proves Mangalore/Dakshina Kannada police department is not at all inefficient/inferior in comparison with other states police provided they take an initiative without any political pressure. They can create a history/wonders if they work sincerely and in unbaised manner.Jai Ho Mangalore Police. Still many more mysterious cases are there in the stock which are to be nabbed/solved.Only time will tell/prove.

Hope this is real !! I pray and hope that some innocent person was not purposly targetted and arrested for a mere promotion or just to close the case.
Hope its all true and hope they are not framed !!!
If its a Genuine arrest , kindly remove the mask .... But i doubt this is a murder for money !! How much money would a taxi driver have , where the killers would make him drive so far away and later kill him.... 100% sure that it was done with other motives !! Please investigate

Great work to Mangalore Police. But sad that you mask the culprits. Expose them to the public. Who knows if they had tried out something else with someone who can at least identify them. HALLOWEEN parties wont do Mr.Seemanth Kumar. Get realistic.

This news item already says that the people who are caught are "killers" and not suspects. Even their names and other details are mentioned. Then what is need to cover their faces? In that case why show their pictures at all??? If the Police Dept is sure that they are the killers, their faces should be shown to the public. What is the rationale behind covering thier faces?

Well Done.Congratulations to All Concerned Police officials.
The Bhajrangdal or RSS or Pariwar group will not give much importance to these murderers, B'coz they are not muslims or christians. Otherwise so far it might have linked to Terrorism . Let us always maintain the PEACE and punish the culprits seriously instead of making it dirty politics.
