Kundapura, Apr 9: "Winds of change are blowing across the coastal region. It is the people who are paying the price for development and not just an individual. I am asking for votes by putting forward my past performance and achievements of the party. It is believed that people have responded to it positively in the past and will respond this time as well. People are aware of the representatives who disappeared from the constituency after winning the elections," said Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Congress candidate K Jayaprakash Hegde.
He was addressing the party workers at Bijadi Gopadi in Kundapura taluk. "People are still telling me what kind of work I did when I was a minister earlier. They have shown love for the work I have done and for the lives of fishermen in the past. I believe that the same love is still green in their memory and they will continue to give that love in the future as well," he said.
Jayaprakash Hegde said, "As a result of your victory over me in the previous elections, I was able to maintain good relations in various departments. There is happiness in winning and doing public works. Even when I lost, I kept in touch with the department and worked. Today, when I go to the people, they receive me very cordially. Our people always encourage those who make progress. The response in Chikkamagaluru and Udupi provides enough proof for that. Now going to polls, roads, bridges and dams made in the past remind us of the road to success." Therefore, he said, he will have the courage to go ahead and ask for votes.
Former MLA Gopal Poojary said, "Kota Srinivasa Poojary is begging all the BJP leaders in the state to end their political life and leave for Delhi. "Look at how much a person who claimed to be poor and led a rich life is lying to the people," he said.
He requested the voters to vote for Jayaprakash Hegde, who is doing the work of providing justice to the people of his constituency by putting forward the issues of the state in Parliament and allowing the development of Udupi and Chikkamagaluru constituencies.
On this occasion, dignitaries like Molahalli Dinesh Hegde, Malyadi Shivaram Shetty, M A Gaffur, Kundapura block Congress president Hariprasad Shetty were present.
