Bangalore: Kannada Actor Darshan Granted Conditional Bail

Bangalore, Oct 7: Finally, after several rejections and postponements, Kannada actor Darshan has been granted bail in connection to the case against him on charges of wife beating.

He was granted conditional bail by the Karnataka high court on Friday October 7.

He was arrested on September 9 after his wife Vijayalaxmi filed a complaint accusing him of threatening her and assaulting her. Though she changed her statement later, the court refused to let him go free and remanded him in judicial custody.

He was booked under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily tcausing hurt), 498A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He had also been booked under section 27 of the arms act.

    He should have been put behind bar at least for 1 year for his crime (also we could have avoided at least 5 useless movies in kannada).

    I can see some people supporting his action on wife. If an ordinary man had done this, everyone would have condemned him. Since he is an actor, some people commenting on his favor. Everyone should be treated same under the law.

    Avinash , mangalore where are you from America or England?? I am asking you because you have added the name of Mangalore in your native place and you might be knowing that even Mangalore is a part of Karnataka.

    @Amit dubai, have you seen her photo in the news paper or TV after that incident? Do you know how many stitches she got on her head, how many finger he broke and lifted his own innocent baby by neck. Do you think any human being can put cigarate butt on his wife. People who supports such daemonic acts are unfit to live civil society as they are not normal human being. Same on people like you for supporting such kind of maniac.Do talk same thing if such things happens to your own sister?

    Hope Darshan won't repeat his action again.He lost sympathy from colleauges,producers,directors.Only some girl friends visit him in the jail.Even Shivraj Kumar who had a 3dyas shooting in Parappana Agrahar jail didn't visit Darshan.That is a clear proof that Darshan lost support from film industry.Do you know how Darshan broke his wife hand ? He ordered his driver not to stop car and started beating vijayalaxmi.He pulled her hand kept her hand near the door(half portion outside) and banged the door..finish..multiple fracture..Now Darshan got conditional bail !

    This is totally un-acceptable, Darshan should have kept in the jail at-least for 3 months. He is a NAI BAALA, another months time, he will repeat the same.

    Bail or Jail,attempt murder or Culpable and amounting to order does't matter.His repute,Goodwill dented beyond repair.His double face exposed to nation.This is the time for him to retrospect and honor court's conditional bail.
