Mangaluru, April 16: Dentist Dr Swati Shetty (24), daughter of Alvarabettu, Naringana grama, Ullal taluk resident and veteran RSS leader, Shantipalike Mahamaya Temple renovation committee president Ramanna Shetty Alvarabettu and Jyothi Shetty passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday morning, April 16.
She had secured her degree in dentistry at A J Hospital, Mangaluru. As she had to join duty at a clinic in Pandeshwara from Tuesday, she had stayed at her Alvarebettu house till Sunday and had gone away from home on Monday evening.
She was staying at a PG accommodation in Pandeshwara from Monday evening to start her profession as a dentist. She spoke to her parents over the mobile phone in the night. She had cut off her conversation with her mother half way saying that she was suffering from a severe headache and would speak to her the next day.
Her roommate did not wake her up as Dr Swathi had a severe headache. As her body was cold, the supervisor immediately summoned an ambulance and rushed her to the Wenlock Hospital. But she had already died by then.
She was umarried and her parents had planned her wedding before the end of the year. She had no other ailments other than a rare headache. She had made a name for herself. She is survived by her parents and a brother.
RSS leaders, BJP district president Sathish Kumpala, Assembly Speaker U T Khader, Santhosh Kumar Rai Boliar, Ravindra Shetty Ulidottu, Jagadish Alva Kuwaithabail, Prashanth Kajava, Nawaz Naringana and other dignitaries have expressed their condolences on the sad demise of Dr Swathi.
