RSS Not Linked with Our Movement: India Against Corruption

New Delhi, Oct 8 (IANS): The Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh (RSS) is not associated with running the anti-graft movement, India Against Corruption (IAC) said Saturday in an official statement, refuting the Hindu outfit's claims that its volunteers were active in all anti-corruption movements.

"RSS is not a part of the leadership and is not associated in anyway in running the movement... It is a people's movement and every Indian ought to and is welcome to participate in it," said the IAC statement.

According to IAC, the anti-graft movement consisted of people from all shades of political opinion, including people from Left, right and centre.

"We do not approve of any kind of communal ideology," added the statement.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat Thursday said that volunteers of the organisation "are already active in all movements against corruption without craving for their own position and credit".

The statement caused major ripples and gave the Congress an opportunity to attack Anna Hazare, who has been the face of the movement.
