Anekal (Bengaluru), Apr 18: Three-term Congress Lok Sabha member from Bengaluru Rural D K Suresh, who is the younger brother of KPCC Chief and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, has accused the BJP-JDS combine to “frighten and silence” the Congress workers by letting loose Central investigating agencies like IT and ED.
Speaking to media persons during an election rally at Anekal near Bengaluru on Thursday, Suresh lashed out at the BJP-JDS leaders for unleashing IT-ED sleuths against Congress workers as they are worried about losing the election.
“I am taking up the matter with Election Commission by writing to them. I will also take up the matter with Income Tax authorities,” he said alleging that IT and ED officers visited the houses of his workers and frightened and abused women.
He warned that the Congress party will be forced to launch a bitter struggle if the highhandedness continued.
Suresh said he is seeking votes based on his work and service in the constituency and not by colluding with government officer.
Replying to a comment by JDS supremo H D Deve Gowda that he has looted property, Suresh said Deve Gowda is an elderly person and declined to comment on him.
“However, I am ready to give details of the properties amassed by the Deve Gowda family and also hurling stones,” he said denying the allegation that he and his brother were behind the stone-throwing incident at Deve Gowda’s rally.
“I have records about the properties amassed by the Deve Gowda family and the places. I am ready to give details if necessary,” he declared.
