Neha’s murder not a case of love jihad: Siddaramaiah

Mysuru (Karnataka), April 20 (IANS): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday said that the murder of MCA student Neha Hiremath is not a case of "love jihad".

“I strongly condemn the act. The killer was arrested immediately. This is not a case of love jihad. The government will make sure that stringent punishment is being given to the killer,” the Chief Minister told media persons in Mysuru.

He said that it is unfortunate to use one’s death for political reasons.

“The case is being politicised unnecessarily. The protests will not affect the government,” the Chief Minister said.

Neha, the daughter of a Congress corporator in Hubballi, was stabbed to death inside the college campus in Hubballi city by Fayaz Kondikoppa on Friday.

However, other students caught Fayaz and handed him over to the police.

Meanwhile, the parents of Neha claimed that their daughter’s murder is a case of “love jihad”.

Niranjan Hiremath, the father of Neha, has warned that his entire family will commit suicide if the investigation is misled and botched up.

Then how can he categorise loves without endorsing its existence? According to him this is ek tarfa pyar (one way love) and not the jihad as mentioned by you. So this case too comes in the category of Nejjar murders.

It’s yet another case of BJP playing dirty game of killing thier own for sympathy and vote gain. Fayaz was only brain washed and forced into this murder as stated by girl’s father that it’s not one day incident but a long worked out plan was going behind this incident.

It is clearly a pre-planned murder. Till yesterday, congress had a chance of few seats in Karnataka but the stupid statements of CM and other minister to cover up this issue will certainly cost them this election and certainly they deserve this. Height of appeasement politics. Shame on you guys

How does Siddha know that it is not a case of love jihad ? If has guts , he should ask for CBI inquiry. Why should he be frightened of that ?

It was a planned murder most foul. A thorough investigation by an agency like the CBI will spill out the truth ; love jihad or else.
