Lack of Leadership in UPA Government: Advani

New Delhi, Oct 10 (IANS): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani Monday said there is lack of leadership in the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, due to which the anger of the people had increased on issues like price rise and corruption.

Briefing the media ahead of his Jan Chetna Yatra anti-graft campaign starting Tuesday from Bihar, Advani said people are angry as the government has failed to check inflation, corruption and bring back black money stashed in foreign banks.

"In the last few years, the anger among people has increased because of rise in prices, corruption and other issues and there is no doubt the reason is lack of leadership in the UPA," he said.

In the past, Advani has accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of weak leadership.

Explaining his yatra, Advani said it will be launched on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Jayprakash Narayan Tuesday from his birthplace Sitab Diara in Bihar.

The Jan Chetna Yatra will focus on good governance and clean politics and pass through 18 states and some union territories. It will culminate in Delhi Nov 20 after covering almost 12,000 km - about 300 km each day.

82 year old BJP leader, LK Advani is pointing out at the lack of leadership in UPA. Looks like BJP also has the same problem (I wonder why Advani is looking for the PM post instead of endorsing other more eligible young and dynamic BJP leadrs).

What leadership he is talking about? Long back in 1991 he was the leader of the mob who demolished the Babri Masjid. Does he call himself a national leader?

How much money will be spent on this luxurious Yatra project? Who is funding this so called Yatra? Will it be financed by party funds or donations or black money from Sushma/Gadkari/Reddys? What will be the outcome? Will it tackle the real issues or simply flare up communal issues? Can someone shed some light on these critical questions?

IN BJP WHAT LEADERSHIP IS THERE ADVANIJI ? IN BJP ALL ARE LEADERS. NO ONE KNOWS WHO IS THIER PRESIDENT AND ALL SAY THEY ARE THE PRESIDENT. ADVANI NEED NOT GIVE FOOLISH COMMENTS. ADVANI SHOULD FIRST SAY HOW MANY LEADERS ARE IN BJP ? IN UPA THERE IS ONLY ONE LEADER AND SHE IS SONIA WHO COMMANDS LOT OF RESPECT. BJP PRESIDENT DOES NOT HAVE ANY RESPECT AND NO ONE EVEN CARES FOR GADKARI. EVEN YEDDY DID NOT OBEY GADKARI'S ORDERS TO RESIGN MANY TIMES. ONLY DUE TO LOKAUKTA IMPLICATING YEDDY IN MINING SCAM, YEDDY RESIGNED AND NOT DUE TO GADKARI OR SUSHMA'S. EVEN ADVANIJI ADVISED YEDDY TO RESIGN BUT YEDDY IGNORED ADVANIJI'S ADVICE. SO ADVANI DON'T WORRY ABOUT UPA. ALL IS WELL IN UPA.
