Mangalore, Oct 10: They say history repeats often. In the case of a thief of Nepali origin, it certainly did.

Mangalore East Police on Saturday October 9 arrested two international thieves, Karan Khadga (37) alias Kuyitu and Gyanendra Singh (20), both from Nepal. Khadga had been arrested last year too for several thefts.

They were arrested in connection to the burglary in Target Marketing Services, owned by P K Kushalappa at Kadri-Kambla Road here.

Police recovered two laptops, one mobile handset and gadgets worth Rs 1.15 lac from the duo.

Karan Khadga had arrived in India in 1993 and began working as a domestic help and then as a security guard in Mangalore. In March 2010, he was arrested by Mangalore East Police for masterminding the burglaries at the residences of Dr M V Shetty, wherein cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.5 crore went missing, and of Bharat Alva, from where Rs 7 lac was stolen. The police had then recovered Rs 44.83 lac worth of gold and cash from him. It was found that Khadga had several accomplices.

Apart from these, he has been involved in several other theft cases also.

At present, he stays with his family at Kumpala Ashraya Colony, Someshwar village, here.  He even has voter’s ID and ration card.

The arrests were made under the instructions of city police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, DySP Dharmaiah, ASP Ravindra Gadadi, and the team was led by Mangalore (East) police sub-inspector Vinayak, police personnel Sukumar K, Harish Padavinangady, Subramanya, Yashwant Konchady, Veerabhadra and Prakash Naik.

And like wise, passport and visa should be made compulsory for Indians entering Nepal too. Indians have looted right from the government coffer to banks to our parliament. Restrict Indians , it will be better for Nepal

This is the high time govt. should consider to stop Nepalis entering India without Passport. Why special treatement for Nepel. Something should done to moniter such criminal element crossing the border freely. Officer who given ID should punished, and better co-ordination required within investigating gency.

Dear Robert Pinto, Bahrain / Udupi,

If we behead that scam politician who issued these Nepalis the Voter ID's and ration Card, then people like Nagesh Nayak will say we are becoming like Taliban so as to protect corrupt BJP politicians in Karnataka.

Nagesh Nayak might himself be paid by BJP to spread false propaganda about Congress.

It is surprising how a Nepali can get a ration card & voter ID when we the true citizen could not able to get the ration card even now.The concerned officials who are responsible to issue the RC & ID should be punished. It is a Seccurity threat. The police & the District authority should go into deep and investigat.

Involved in several thefts last year and were caught. Still left loose? Wow! Having voter's ID, Ration Card...Excellent. Our India is progressing no doubt...but in wrong direction. Where is the end for this? Crimes will take place. Arrests will be made. Highlights in the news by the media for a while.....and back to same stage...

Arrest him and release him on bail again for more thefts only to be caught again for the cop to get a promotion. But, will someone investigate as to who issued him the Voters ID and Ration Card, which for me being a genuine India returned NRI is so difficult to get!! Behead that scam politician.

"He even has voter’s ID and ration card." corruption starts from the Ration Card till sale of Kar-Nataka. The needy, humbled, innocent true INDIANS are not getting voter’s ID and ration card easily. There is unnecessarily delay in issuing the voter's ID or ration card to the poor, innocent minorities, This is fact. Without the support from the PSEUDOs these things cannot be done. Lootmar, goondagiri, corruption, bribe, caste descrimination, torture, murders, etc etc by PSEUDOS

'He has Voters ID and Ration Card'

This shows how our authorities encourage theft in our country. If a native goes to apply for one of these documents, one must go through a hell of procedures (no regrets) but these people have it ready at hand ! I wonder how heavily he may have greased the hands of those who issue these documents. Before punishing these culprits, investigate through what source they got the ID and Ration Card !

And, Voter's ID ? Isn't it supposed to be a right of an Indian National ? Has it been ever used ?

Whenever the Gorkhas get appointed after getting local police approval after few months or a year shop robberies by breaking open locks used to happen in small villages.
When asked they used to say they were not on duty or went to freinds place 2 days back. Or they would say as the area is big, after he went to the other end of area, robbers might have targetted the place.
But whenever there are no security gorkhas there were no robberies at-all. What it conveys is simple- they get appointed as security guards only to rob & cover themselves with alibis.
One young Gorkha told me- Saab- Don't believe Gorkhas, don't give anything in credit to anybody including me! And his revealtion was true- as many left the place without paying their credit.
In Bangalore as well as many places the fence- the security guards themselves were responsible for robbery as well as crimes like rape & murder. Whether they are from Nepal or Bihar or Assam they belong to same category-Criminals in the garb of Security providers.
