Nitish Kumar Flags Off Advani Yatra

Chapra (Bihar), Oct 11 (IANS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani's cross-country Jan Chetna Yatra was Tuesday flagged off by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from this Bihar town.

The modified bus in which the veteran BJP leader will travel to various parts of the country over the next 38 days, was flagged off by Kumar by waving a green flag from Chapra, district headquarters of Saran and more than 40 km from Patna.

Advani, perched on a lift on the bus roof, waved to a cheering crowd as Kumar waved the flag.

As the bus started its journey, people present along the two sides of the road raised slogans of "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and "Vande Matram".

BJP leaders Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj were also present along with Advani on top of the bus which was painted with colours of the party flag.

Advani and Kumar earlier addressed a rally at Sitab Diara, the birth place of Jayaprakash Narayan.
