Bangalore: Advani's Yatra will Give New Direction to Politics: CM

From Our Special Correspondent
Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Oct 11: The anti-graft JanChetna Yatra of senior BJP leader L K Advani, which was launched from Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan’s birthplace Sitab Diara in Bihar on Tuesday, will give a new direction to country’s politics, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said in Bangalore on Tuesday.

BJP’s opposition leaders in parliament Sushma Swaraj (Lok Sabha) and Arun Jaitely (Rajya Sabha) were among the senior party leaders who participated in the launch function in Bihar.

The 38-day-long anti-corruption yatra by the former Deputy Prime Minister with its prime focus on corruption, will turn out to be the game-changer as it will chart out a new course of action to the drive against the menace of corruption that affects all sections of society, Gowda said on the sidelines of a function to celebrate the Valmiki Jayanti in the city.

The yatra would help in strengthening the party’s fight against corruption and in cleansing politics besides preparing the organization to gear up for facing the next parliamentary polls.

The yatra, with BJP national general secretary and Bangalore south MP Ananth Kumar, as the in-charge, is expected to touch Bangalore on October 30.

Advani will be addressing public rallies in Bangalore, Mangalore and Udupi in his Karnataka leg of the 38-day journey and move over to neighbouring Goa.

CM rules out Cabinet Expansion, now!

Answering questions from the media, the Chief Minister said the third and probably the last expansion of his month-old cabinet was unlikely to take place in the near future.

He as well as the State BJP President k S Eshwarappa had indicated that the Cabinet expansion was likely to be held after the recent Koppal assembly by-election, which had been won by BJP candidate Karadi Sanganna.

He, however, did not disclose the reason for the decision for not going in for the cabinet expansion. He also did not indicate when or if at all, it will be held.

Gowda said the State Government had already set in motion the process of holding consultations on the appointment of the new Lokayukta to fill up the vacancy caused by the resignation of Justice Shivaraj Patil. ''A decision will be taken soon,” he said.

At the same time, he said the State Government was busy preparing an action taken report on the Lokayukta’s report on illegal mining.

Valmiki Bhavans in all Districts, Taluks

The Chief Minister said the State Government would be constructing Valimiki Bhavans in all district and taluk headquarters and supply books on Ramayana authored by Valmiki to colleges and school libraries.

A Valmiki Bhavan was being constructed at a cost Rs 7 crore at Banashankari in Bangalore.

He said 31,000 Ramayana books would be supplied to government run schools and colleges in the State.

A sum of Rs. 2,913 crore and Rs. 1016 crore had been spent under the special component plans in 2010-11 for the upliliftment of the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, respectively, he said.

Social Welfare Minister A Narayanaswamy said a few departments have not fully utilised funds meant for the welfare of SCs and STs.

He said the State Government was serious in ensuring that the allocations meant for SC/STs and other backward classes were fully utilised.

Mr. Advani has played his final but master stroke. He started the yatra at JP's birth place, involved Mr. Clean Bihar CM, political rival Sushma at the dais and Jaitley on the VVIP-rath. The luxury bus converted rath is capable enough to take the commoners for a ride. Mr. Advani will give the right direction of BJP's dooms day.

Yes Gowdre. This will definitely give a new direction to politics as during his previous yatras. This yatra will dismantle one more wall Indian unity and create more divisions, disunity and polarization amongst the people. This may also cause more disunity within the BJP. However it is also very funny to hear this old man talk about money in foreign banks and corruption. His party was in power for 6 years and he as the powerful home minister could not bring the money back, he could not introduce the Lok pal bill then. Therefore what rubbish is he talking now?. His CM in Gujarat had not appointed a Lok ayukta for 7 years and yet he is harping about corruption. Dear Advaniji, are you taking the 1 billion plus people India for fools, to listen to your senile logic?

Bihar is well governed by Mr. Nitesh Kumar, Why start in Bihar Advaniji? It would have been appropriate if you had started your anti graft Yatra from BELLARY together with Yeddy. Eternal Yatri, Advaniji is just trying to cash in on the strong anti-corruption mood created in India by the Anna movement. Good Luck! This could well be your last chance to sit on the PM’s chair.

    Dear Mr. Advani,
I appreciate your grit and zeal. At 84 you still nurture the dream of becoming PM while others of your age are either in home for the aged or looking at prospective aged homes.
I know you are of Pakistani origin and you are hell bent on destabilizing or diving India on Religion.
You had a long stint in politics and you almost became the PM of India but luck ran out.
We remember your 2 great political achievements Ayodhya and Kandhar which India is regretting to date.
I am amazed at your Hippocratic anti corruption yatra while you have conveniently forgotten Karnataka mining scam, Coffin scam, Syndia Raje land scam, Uttranchal scam, Cash for votes...……the list is endless.
We Indians strongly feel that you should give this young, strong, and competent Mr. Narendra Modi a chance and project him as BJP’s candidate for PM of India while you should gracefully retire from Politics.
All your actions are directly benefiting the opposition and weakening the BJP.
I am sure Congress guys would be having a good laugh behind you back.
I want to wish you a Happy Retired Life but I know you wont rest till you and Mr. Anna Hazare become PM and President of India. GOOD LUCK.

Advanji must collect all the money looters of his party starting with the mega giants of Karnataka into a bullock cart ride, and travel to some Himalayan Mountain cave to lead a  Samathi life. Mr. CM, that might be the new 'political direction" you are bluntly talking about because Advanji has tried everything else in his political  yatra so far.

it is a good move to fight against the corruption. i kindly request Anna Hazare to tour Gujrat and tell 6 crore gujrathis not to vote for Modi as he has blocked the appointment of Loka yukta in Gujrat since 7 YEARS. why MODIJI is afraid of Loka yukta and this arrogance of Modiji is not against the constitution ?. DAL ME KUCH KALA HAI. Adavaniji, you should try to clean up your house in Gujrat and Karnataka before pointing the fingers at others. we should not throw stones at others while hiding in a glass house. Advaniji you are in 90's, and i do not think i am eligible to advise you, but please act according to your conscience.

BJP and CM of Karnataka are biggest hypocrite under the circumstances. How can L.K Adwani justifies his mission @ least in Karnataka when his own comrades accused of siphoning millions of Dollar in Karnataka which was writing on the wall! Why Eddy was forced to tender his resignation? Why Reddys are lodged in Jail with out bail? Why Sushma Swaraj associated with the most famous 420 Ministers Reddy brothers?

L.K Adwani want a break as he was side lined by RSS for a remark about Jinnah which is against Sanghparivar's constitution. In BJP there are @ least 5-6 shortlisted candidates for P.M of Largest democracy-India in the year 2014.UPA has enough problems with it's shoulders of corruptions , though no competition
for pm's post.To achieve lifetime dream of becoming India's PM, Adwani wearing new shirt jumped in to AC bus(CHARIOT)to fool around India. This gentleman has no remorse on his past R.Yathra,Guj riots.... If he inspired by the stupendous success of urban legend called Anna Hazare,BJP's eternal Prime minister-in waiting LK.Adwani comes up with another rath yathra hoping to revive the dying embers of his blighted career. The old warhorse who painted India red with his Rath Yahtra in nineties culminating in the demolition of Masjid and riots across India.Do we need another Yathra when terrorism ,Naxalism,Communalism are @ peak?Only Indian Citizens will answer for BJP's double std and stupidity.JAI HIND.

BJP is the only hope and it will surely fulfill the will of the common people and the examples are plenty available from the BJP/NDA ruled states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Chattisgar,Himachal, Karnataka etc where they have done enough developmental work for the betterment of the state and its people. So all Indians heartily welcome Shri.Advaniji and wish him all success in his yatra. Jai Hind.
