Puttur: CM's Visit to Town - War of Words Between Kateel, SP Labhu Ram

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur

Puttur, Oct 12: An argument erupted between MP Naleen Kumar Kateel and SP Labhu Ram here on Tuesday October 11, while making arrangements at the helipad for chief minister Sadananda Gowda's visit to the town.

Labhu Ram, who was in charge of the arrangements, spotted BJP district general secretary Sanjiva Mathandoor, Devidas Shetty and several others who were trying to make their way into the helipad and crossing the line of demarcation. Irked by this violation, the SP told them to stay away.

At this, other BJP leaders, like MLA Padmanabha Kottari, Chanila Timmappa Shetty, Puttur local BJP president Gopalakrishna Herle, state committee member Chandrashekhar Rao Bappalige and others protested.

Naleen Kumar Kateel reportedly was fuming with anger when SP told that they were doing so on the grounds of safety. " You policemen are not capable of catching hold of the naxals but want to stop BJP representatives who wish to welcome their leader. How daring is that?", Kateel questioned on a high pitched tone.

Despite various means of assurances and explanations by the SP, the BJP men did not listen and announced that they would not cooperate and called out the BJP people who were already seated. They threatened that they would take the matter to the CM. Even the words of deputy commissioner Dr Chennappa Gowda had no impact.

However, later, the CM arrived on the spot and handled the situation and convinced his party members.

SP Labhu Ram was absolutely right in sticking to his guns when it came to CM security. Those who say SP should be respected the elected members .The question is where. Is he given disregard to the elected members in his office. Not at all.
Secondly, the time frame is also equally important. There was no time left for SP for accommodating in the dais or designated place, for any elected members.

Prevention is better than cure and avoiding any unforeseen circumstances is the brain work of efficient security agencies in which SP Labhu Ram has uted and excelled. Some of our politicians are nothing less than unqualified, uncultured goondas.

What Mr.Nalin abused the SP in the context of naxals may not be correct but it is equally wrong on the part of SP to restrict the MP and leaders of district/local unit of ruling party on the occasion of the visit their leader/CM DVS.
The occasion could have prodently manager to the SP instaed of implementing the rules steadfastly seeing type of crowd around there.Simply commenting adversely for political reasons does sound well or serve the purpose.

There is a protocol for everything, i think in this case the SP was just doing his job which he was assigned. If God forbids there is some intruder in this who may cause harm, then BJP will straight away blame/dismiss the SP than the Home minister (Centre) that it, how can SP diffentiate between good and bad people,he is correct in telling these guys to stay away from a safety point .This shows the shear ignorance of the MP and the muscle power. He could have politely told SP to make some arrangements to BJP workers or supporters to greet the CM.

    Dear All

One question to all on this discussion bench, is the below statement and comparison from Honerable MP Mr. Naveen K Kateel make sense!!!

" You policemen are not capable of catching hold of the naxals but want to stop BJP representatives who wish to welcome their leader. How daring is that?",

When SP says SAFETY it mean much more than Mr. Kateel understood.

I am totally dissapointed as I had very good impression on Mr.Kateel. I had couple of opportunities to share the flight with him when he flew from New Delhi to Mangalore and earlier Bangalore to Mangalore, even had brief chat with him.

    GOD BLESS KARNATAKA.

All politicians are same. What Mr. Siddu and Mr. Jameer Ahmed did in Vidhana Soudha? What they did to DIG in the house? Now you all forgot? Everyone when commenting, make comments impartially. Tomorrow congress comes to power, same situation or Communist comes same, no difference. We have to balme ourself. we are giving vote to intelligent politicians and we are fools closing the eyes and casting the vote. We should follow British policy, those who educated should cast thier votes. Otherwise these politicians make us fools.

Take the case of Mr. Anna, fighting for corruptions, how many we educated supported him? Is there any strict rules in India to punish the corrupt people? Why we dont think of our country? Our biggest enemy China is sorrounded us from Burma, Kashmir, Sri lanka,But, we are involved in dirty religion based politics by all parties for thier livilyhood. No proper roads in village, no school, no hospital, no electricity. All political party did the same and BJP is also same. Why Mr. DVS need samaan? Why he use helicopter, use these money for the poor.

He promised he will set things right with 15 days but nothing happend.Bottom line i dont blame politicians irrespective of party, they are clever, make us fools by promise at the time of election, wins, does nothing. We need military ruler and put all politican leader in Ashram for 5 to 10 years. Democracy is not suitable for us honestly. Poor people becoming poor and poor and rich people more rich.

Kateel should understand that defusing the naxals is the job the state government by dialogue not by force. Now Kateel and his team will have trouble in future arrangments where ever the SP can show his power within the constitutional limits. Its shame on the part of the MP to talk like a Goonda.

This MP has become MP by luck and doesn't know anything. He knows neither the protocol nor the security arrangement but only knows his old ways like foot path ways. Let BJP give some good manners and protocol lessons to these unruly persons
