Chennai, Apr 30: At an age when most children are playful, two brothers from the city developed an app from their home and eventually became the youngest CEOs in India at ages 10 and 12.
Shravan and Sanjay Kumaran are the genius brothers who were not featured in the ‘30 under 30’ list. The brothers established GoDimensions company in 2011, working within the four walls of their house in the city. Sanjay was the CEO, and Shravan was the president of the company. The duo developed seven mobile apps within a couple of years and were well-known in more than 50 countries, with lakhs of users.
The brothers were making PowerPoint presentations on the computer by the age of four due to the guidance and encouragement given by their father, Kumaran Surendran.
‘Catch Me Cop’ was the first app built by the Kumaran brothers. It was inspired by the renowned childhood game of India, Chor Police. Then, the duo went on to develop apps like "Alphabet Board" and ‘Colour Palette’, an education app for children, ‘Emergency Booth’, an emergency service app, ‘Superhero and Car Racing’, gaming apps, and the ‘Prayer App’. In addition, the brothers also created more than 150 test apps.
Shravan and Sanjay later went to the US and earned their computer science degrees from Texas A&M University. Sanjay works as a software engineering intern at Microsoft, while Shravan is a software developer with Salesforce in San Francisco.
