Lucknow, Oct 12: A trainee pilot was seriously injured when his helicopter came in contact with high tension lines in Sonai Gandhi's parliamentary constituency - Raibreilly around 100 km from Lucknow on Tuesday.
The injured pilot Sudeep Vashishta was a trainee at Indira Gandhi Flight Academy at fursatganj in Raibareilly. After the take off, he lost balance and control and the helicopter came in contact with high tension line near Bhadhokar in Rai Bareli. The Chopper subsequently came down and crashed in the fields critically injuring the trainee pilot.
Luckily the local farmers who were working in the fields spotted the incident immediately and called the local police which rescued the trainee pilot and shifted him to hospital. A case has been registered in this regard and technical experts of the Airport were examining the reason behind the mishap.
