Catholic Board of Education in Mangalore Partners with Infosys for Educational Initiative

Mangaluru, Apr 30: In a significant move towards enhancing educational opportunities, the Catholic Board of Education (CBE) of the Diocese of Mangalore has formalized a partnership with Infosys Software Company through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The collaboration marks the commencement of the ‘Infosys Springboard’ programme, aimed at fostering educational advancement in the region.

The signing ceremony took place at Shanthi Kiran Bajjodi in Mangalore at 10:00 am, with very rev Msgr Maxim Noronha, the vicar general and vice president of the CBE, presiding over the event. Fr Antony Michael Shera, the secretary of the CBE, expressed gratitude towards the officials for initiating the 'Infosys Springboard’ programme, emphasizing its potential to benefit both students and teachers.

Tirumala Arohi, the executive vice president and head of Education, Training, and Assessment (BTA) at Infosys Ltd, provided insights into the functionalities of the Infosys Springboard programme. He elaborated on how students and teachers can leverage the programme to comprehend the school curriculum better and obtain certificate courses. Additionally, he discussed the possibility of supporting less-equipped schools with the necessary devices.

Following the presentation, the MOU was signed, and official documents were exchanged. Msgr Maxim Noronha, in his presidential address, expressed gratitude to the Infosys administration for selecting the CBE as a partner for this initiative. He underscored the mission and vision of the CBE, emphasizing its commitment to providing quality education.

All the heads of the institutions under the CBE and the Joint Secretaries were present for the programme Fr Praveen Leo Lasrado compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
