Popular Bunts English Medium High School, Bajpe wins 'Daiji Anthyakshari' Season 1 contest

Udupi, May 1: Popular Bunts English Medium High School, Malavoor, Bajpe, emerged as the winners of the “Daiji Anthyakshari” reality show organised by Daijiworld Udupi and Kishoo Enterprises.

The team bagged a cash prize of Rs. 15,000, along with a trophy, medals, and certificates.

The finale of the reality show was recently held at the Daijiworld Udupi studio located in Kadiyali, Udupi. St Aloysius High School, Kodialbail, Mangaluru, and Silas International School, Udupi, secured the second and third prizes respectively. The second and third runner-up teams were awarded cash prizes of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively, along with trophies, medals, and certificates.

Kishore Gonsalves, managing director of Kishoo Enterprises, Suchith Kotian, host of Daiji Anthyakshari, and Kevin Rodrigues, manager – operations, Daijiworld Udupi, were present during the prize distribution ceremony held in the office.

Sharing their opinions on the show, Soumya Abhishikta Achary, a student of Silas International School, said, “It was a totally new experience to participate in such a competition. I was very weak in the Kannada segment of songs, but with the help of my partner, we cracked this and secured the third place. The show was entertaining as well as enthralling.”

“I thank Daijiworld Udupi for providing such an amazing opportunity for the students. I was very happy to be a part of this programme. As the levels went up, the competition became tough, but we still encouraged the students to participate enthusiastically. It is a proud moment for the school and students,” said Nirmala Chandrashekhar, faculty of Popular Bunts English Medium High School, Malavoor, Bajpe.

Sharing his experience of hosting the show, Suchith Kotian, said, “It was really tough to frame questions for various rounds. The second round was very tough. But surprisingly, students performed very well. This is not a pre-prepared competition for the contenders; they participated in the show based on their experience and knowledge of songs. This is a benchmark program as it stands as one of the first of its kind in the coastal region.”

A total of nine teams were selected for the semi-final round. The teams included Indrali English Medium School, Udupi; St Aloysius High School, Kodialbail, Mangaluru; Silas International School, Udupi; Sri Bhuvanendra Residential School, Karkala; Shree Narayanaguru English Medium School Padubelle; Vidyodaya English Medium School, Udupi; Popular Bunts English Medium School, Bajpe; Milagres English Medium School, Kallianpura; and Trinity Central School, Perampalli.

Daiji Anthyakshari began in June 2023 after the successful organisation of "Chanaksha Challenge Season 2." Each episode and round consisted of great music and great knowledge. Questions related to music, singing, film, and other related matters were raised.

To enhance the knowledge level of participating students, unique audio-visual rounds and dubsmash rounds were also held.

Bhima Jewellers was the title sponsor, supported by Helios - Titan world Udupi.

Parents, teachers, students, and staff of Daijiworld Udupi were present on the occasion. Praghathi Puthran compared the programme.

The semi-finals and finals rounds will be telecast on Daijiworld 24x7 channel from the second week of May onwards.

Another new competition announced

Daijiworld Swara Sagara – a new singing reality show of coastal Karnataka, is being launched, and the auditions for the same will begin soon.

Interested persons above 16 years can compete in the contest. Daijiworld Chanakshya Challenge Season 3 will be announced shortly.
